Their ministry includes national and international ministries. Don is a mentor to Jack and many others. He has also written many books and articles. Something looks wrong in this picture. Beautiful brown eyes look up at you, revealing to you a piece of his life. In his hands are two shoes. By looking at them, at first, you think that the shoes are mismatched. The shoe on his right hand looks as though it just came out of the box.

“Charting Your Course for the Future” was the theme
of this year’s conference. As the pastors and associate
members of TEAM Ministries came together, some to meet for the
very first time, these were their thoughts and comments.
“To me, it was exciting to see younger pastors and ministers
running the course with strong zeal, which is unusual to find
in this day. It was also a “secure feeling” being
surrounded by more seasoned veterans in the Lord and knowing that
they are behind the ‘young lions’.”
- Pastor Jeremy Drake
“I found that the part of the conference I enjoyed the most
was getting the chance to meet new pastors and associate members
that we had not known before as well as seeing and fellowshipping
with those we did know.”
- Pastor Gary Carstens
“What stood out about the conference to us was the excitement
and energy of seeing something come together that was only a thought
and a dream a year ago. The interaction between the attendees
and the speakers was energizing and that does not happen in many
settings.”
-Pastor Steve and Kim Queen
We apologize that our second issue of “The Winning Team”
has been delayed. We have had a very busy schedule this summer.
God is opening new doors to TEAM Ministries.
We are now relating to six families who desire to be mentored. We
welcome Evan and Katrina Rains, our newest members, who moved to
Omaha this month to receive intense mentoring.
We are planning our TEAM Ministries meeting set for Friday evening,
October 7th and Saturday, October 8th. This meeting is designed
for those six families who are being mentored.

Our next annual TEAM Ministries Conference will be held at the
Wyndam Garden Hotel is Overland Park, KS. I am firming up the
reservation. It is just off I-435 and Metcalf in Overland Park.
It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Please set aside
on your calendar now for April 27-29, 2006. This is a Thursday
evening through Saturday morning. This will allow those with churches
to be in their pulpits on Sunday morning. Please invite other
five-fold leaders, elders, and deaconate to attend.
Jan and I, Pastor Jeremy Drake and Tom Boicourt are going to Romania
in November on a mission trip. It will cost $1500 per person.
Your financial help would greatly be appreciated. We would also
appreciate your prayers.
Our vision is to bring a greater understanding to the leaders
of their own gifting and an appreciation of the other giftings
so that they may more effectively work together in building God’s
Kingdom.
Acronym for T.E.A.M.
By: Perry Root
I think a good acronym for TEAM Ministries could be summed up
as:
T– Teaching and Training
E– Equipping and Empowering
A– Assurance and Apostleship
M– Mentoring and Ministry
I have known Pastors Jack and Jan for almost ten years, spending
time with them and observing their lives frequently and often.
I trust their advice, judgment, and wouldn’t hesitate to
do whatever they asked of me. I saved the word “ministry”
for last in the acronym because it is the final outgrowth of the
previous words in that order. So many people want ministry first.
That’s why their lives end up shipwrecked as well as those
to whom they try to minister.
We find in Scripture that there are two ways God’s people
have complained about their leaders over the years. One is the
quality of leadership itself as in Korah, Dathan, and Abiram asking
Moses, “Who made you to rule over us?” The second
one is in reference to the judgment of the leader: when Aaron
and Miriam were concerned because Moses married an Ethiopian woman,
Miriam asked, “Does God speak to Moses only, does he not
also speak through us?”
Of course we know the earth opened up and swallowed the sons
of Korah. When we can’t complain about leadership, we also
want to complain about the judgment they exhibit or lack of it,
the how or why something was done. This caused Miriam to be stricken
with leprosy for seven days. God equated this as spitting in his
face and put her outside the camp for seven days. (Numbers 12,
Numbers 16)
The point is: we are not to brutally question our leaders or their
judgments. It is before our Lord that all of us either stand or
fall.
Believers wonder why they often have so much difficulty in life;
it can be traced to one of these two areas most of the time. This
doesn’t mean we can’t or won’t have legitimate
questions to help increase our understanding, but, as in business
and also in the ministry, the ultimate decisions rest with those
we choose to follow.
Do people make bad decisions and have poor judgment in life? Of
course they do. The best any of us can see is through the glass
darkly as Scripture mentions in the book of James. However, there
are people and principles to submit to in life and ministry or
nothing can be accomplished for the kingdom. We are all connected
to a greater purpose-fulfilling the kingdom of God. No one is
alone or an island unto themselves.
In my next article, I will start down the list of the acronym
of T: Teaching. Stay connected and be blessed.
Go Outside with the Gospel
By: Aaron Heeg
In the Acts of the Apostles, we find men and women gathered together
in one place waiting for the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise
(Acts 2:1-3). The promise was the Holy Spirit. Jesus stated in
John 16 that His Spirit poured out upon His disciples was more
profitable for them that His physical presence. He shared with
them the benefits of His going and His Spirit’s (The Kingdom)
coming. It would reconnect them to their Father (John 14:18),
guide them into all truth, and empower them with
Kingdom grace to witness throughout all the earth (Acts 1:8).
In the second chapter of Acts, we find the fulfillment of this
promise. As the Spirit falls upon them, Peter, in great Holy Ghost
boldness, preaches Christ as King. I submit to you that Peter,
while preaching, had stepped outside of the upper room to preach
Christ. His encounter with the Holy Spirit instantly joined him
to his Father and propelled him outside the four walls and into
a religious culture that cried out for transformation. All of
creation earnestly waits for the manifestation of the son’s
of God (Romans 8). On the Day of Pentecost, a son manifested and
creation was impacted.
In Edmond, Oklahoma, where I pastor, the Lord has led us to conduct
monthly meetings called “Going Outside with the Gospel of
the Kingdom”. Once a month, we set up in a city park and
have church outside. It has been very powerful since we started.
We have seen adults and children from different cultural backgrounds
make decisions for Christ, youth set free from witchcraft and
perversion, and open doors have been granted to us into the hearts
and homes of people in our community. We received a testimony
from a community resident where he said, “Pastor, what makes
what you are doing great is that you are bringing church to us
rather than making us come to it.”
When Jesus ascended into Heaven to receive the Holy Spirit, He
gave gifts to men– apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers,
and evangelists to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry
(Ephesians 4:11).
As five-fold ministers of the gospel, it is imperative that we
equip His people. We must be facilitators of His Spirit into the
body, releasing and enabling His sheep to be productive outside
the four walls of the local church. We must be breeding and raising
up future economic, political, and educational leaders who will
go into cultures and make an impact. Men and women being transformed
by Christ must be our aim. In addition to releasing His transforming
presence, we must also be secure enough in our relationship with
Him to release our leaders into their destiny.
In our local church, we place much focus on developing entrepreneurs
through a ministry called The Entrepreneurial Network. It is an
apostolic and prophetic small Christian business network. Our
aim is to encourage and support the business men and women in
our local church. Through strong pastoral and mentorship, we are
discovering a deeper commitment on all fronts. These men and women
have been a great support to our early outreaches because of the
ministry we have given them through our relationships.
Our Entrepreneurial ministry has also opened doors for us in
the broader community. In our local church, we place much focus

the broader community.
We have partnered with a local business who is providing oil changes
at cost for single moms in our community. Businessmen have discovered
great fulfillment in helping us reach the poor and needy in our
community. Within one month’s time two unexpected substantial
gifts were given to our ministry by businessmen in the community.
These men have been in relationship with our ministry for severalyears
and have discovered purpose for working in the marketplace through
The Entrepreneurial Network.
The gospel of the kingdom is a counter-cultural message. It is
a Kingdom Culture that consists of righteousness, peace, and joy
in the Spirit (Romans 14:17). It is a spiritual culture. As leaders,
we must create this environment and atmosphere in our homes, ministries,
churches, and businesses. However, once it is birthed, it is our
mandate to impart the revelation knowledge of this culture into
the hearts of those we lead. As heads over your measure and rules,
pray the Father of Glory give to those you influence and rule
a spirit of wisdom and revelation. (Ephesians 1:17). Trust that
He will come and when He appears, release them to go and be free,
in the realm of culture that God has called them into.
