-Embracing Jesus as King is Radical
-The Way to Greatness

The Way to Greatness

  • You’ve seen many lists of rules for success. They can be inspiring, but only to put you above your friends.
  • What is success? More people attending our church does NOT mean success. Nicer buildings do not mean your church is any better.
  • The key to a healthy church is not better messages, better music, better methods, and more money.

How, then, is the Kingdom truly meant to expand?

  • It is in making disciples, not just converts. Healthy disciples make up a healthy church. Reproducing disciples makes a reproducing church.
  • What is success? More people attending our church does NOT mean success. Nicer buildings do not mean your church is any better.
  • Producing disciples is more than teaching people how to be born again, reading their Bible, being baptized, giving their money and attending church services or being forgiven of your sins.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

  • It is to make converts who carry out Genesis 1:26. We have the resurrected power of God to subdue and take the message into every area of society, taking the government of love in a place where these is only selfishness. Spiritual gifts would get used, rather that be just toys to play with.

The world got affected in the Fall of Man, but it got affected by the cross, too!
Here is a list of the ways to greatness:

1.Learn to Enjoy Life

  • Find your joy in the Lord, as He does in you.
  • Learn to revolve around Him; nothing is so unhappy as a planet out of orbit.
  • Learn to enjoy your Quiet Time with God every day.
  • When your joy tank runs dry, you begin to do really dumb things to fill it back up.

2. Put Life Above Order

  • Being life-giving is better than being proper. Most likely, you have long tried to do right instead of wrong. That’s basic.
  • But now we can jump to a higher level by letting life flow through you to others.
  • When we open our hearts and minds to the true Gospel of victory, our positional righteousness can explode into a dynamic free flow of power.

John 7:37: On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

3. Take a Step of Faith Every Day

  • Growth is mandatory. You cannot sit still.
  • Ask God each day, “Lord, give me an opportunity today to show your Kingdom of love in some new way.”
  • Don’t allow yourself to drift into lazy Christianity.
  • Hebrews 10:38: Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.

  • God rewards faithfulness more than position.

4. Stay Clean and Strong

  • Maintain a lifestyle of constant obedience and regular repentance.
  • You can’t just coast along.

5. Set Your Goals.

  • It is imperative to write your goals down. Be very specific.
  • Keep them related to your personal vision for your life.
  • Be realistic but ambitious. Include a dimension of faith.
  • I’ll pass out a list for you to fill out later.
  • Review it regularly.

6. Learn to Use the Bible

  • You cannot be a mature Christian disciple unless your mind is transformed by the Word.
  • It’s not enough to learn the Bible, but to KNOW God through and become like Him.

7. Keep Rebooting Your Life

  • All of us hit bottom from time to time. Restructure your life constantly. How? READ! Read weekly and widely. Most people only grow in certain areas. Read to stretch.
  • It’s much easier to spend a few hours reading a book then to suffer ten years of disasters caused by ignorance.
  • Reading also helps to think out of the box!

8. Hitch Your Wagon to Somebody’s Star

  • When you find a man or woman who far exceeds the other friends you have, draft him or her as your mentor, and follow his/her example and training. This can SAVE you decades of wandering.
  • Leadership that rests on a title is weak. Leadership that rests in a cause and inspires others to follow is STRONG.

9. Join a High-Commitment Team

  • Be a part of a highly committed team of like-minded friends.

10. Get Out of Your Box

  • Learn to “Love one another” in your fellowship, turning away from individualism and be a team player. Be willing to share openly with the others in your group and pray for them regularly.

11. Show Some Respect

  • A “protégé” who answers to no one is dangerous. In return for the blessing, empowerment, and help you receive, you must commit to paying attention to (and respecting the God-given authority of) the servant-leaders God provides for you – apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and elders.
  • This does NOT imply a hierarchical or chain of command relationship.

12. Stop Driving with Your Brake On

  • Roll up your sleeves and get down to serious, lifelong business of destroying evil, building the Kingdom, and start with your own life!

“He that believes in Christ and that he came with His Kingdom does what he, himself, cannot do, attempts the impossible and performs it. Jesus promise is for all who follow Him.
All the power of heaven and earth goes with you wherever you go! Wow!”
